Somanathapuara is a small town in Mysuru District but it is not difficult to imagine it’s past glory during Hoysala period if only you spend a few hours at the Keshava Temple.

Quite often overshadowed by the neighboring Hampi, Sandur is home to very unique temple complex dedicated to Goddess Parvathi and her son the God of wars – Kumaraswamy atop a serene picturesque Kraunjagiri Hill.

Hoysalas ruled Southern India between 11th & 14th century. After Chalukyas who experimented with temple architecture, Hoysalas mastered the art and propagated it beyond imagination. More than 1000 temples were built in their period.
